.::. NetQuake Team Fortress Revival .::. :::Overview::: Team Fortress has been gone for several years now: From Netquake or QuakeWorld. With the realization that there IS still a netquake community, I decided to see if it would be possible to get something going on NetQuake, which i started on and loved. :::Neceesaary Files::: (1) Quake Shareware or Registered version. Shareware can be downloaded at the following link: http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d96.htm * If you are using Quake Shareware then you MUST use either QRack (linked below), proquake, or other free/open quake client to play mods. **NOTE** If you already have Quake installed, such as a QuakeWorld only folder, I suggest before you extract this file, you rename the QUAKE folder to QUAKE1. -Extract to C:\ (2) QUAKE TEAM FORTRESS 2.5: http://www.quake-1.com/files/modfiles/nqtf-setup.exe This revival will be using TF 2.5 instead of 2.8 because 2.5 is able to be modified. Adding map voting, server downloading, etc. -Just run the .exe and select to install to the QUAKE or QUAKE1 Folder you just extracted the QUAKE Full Version to. (3) QRACK GL CLIENT: http://www.quakeone.com/qrack This is going to be the best bet probably for a client. I suggest it anyway. Go to website. go to the downloads section. download the client and follow the instructions on the website for installation. **NOTE** After you have the client. You will need to create a separate shortcut to the glqrack.exe and add the command line "-game nqtf" to the end of the target command line. -For Example: Mine looks like this... C:\QUAKE1\glqrack.exe -game nqtf You must due this due to the fact that glqrack by default will load up quake1 without TF capability. You must create a new shortcut to load up TF to be able to access TF. (4) QUAKE TEAM FORTRESS STANDALONE SERVER FILE: http://www.quake-1.com/files/servers/nq_teamfortress_server_standalone.zip This is optional obviously. This is just a standalone server.bat file for anyone who wants to play on their own server or have the capability to run a server. -If you do have the capability to run a server and would like to run one for the QTF Revival Officially, Please let us know so we can add you to a server list. :::Special Thanks::: -To Baker for working on some of these packages along with extended work on the Proquake client and coding of the votemap system. He's been very helpful with guiding me as I have been out of the netquake scene for many years now. -To Avirox for his help in the coding process as well as testing. :::Contact::: For more info you can contact me at #QuakeTF on irc.gamesurge.net -or- email me at sealscarl@yahoo.com Thanks, Carl "Shock" Seals
